ओम् श्रीगुरुभ्यो नम: The word puruṣārtha means that which is sought by human beings. Humans have several things in common with animals, but an advanced intellect is unique to humans only. Humans can use this intellect to plan, prioritize, and achieve their goals. The Vedas classify puruṣārthas as fourfold.
